Marco Island Academy has formed an Environmental , “ECO” Club. The club chairman, Emily Reisinger, contacted the Calusa Garden Club through our website and requested that one of our members attend their next meeting and observe.Kimberly Porter, CGC president, attended their meeting on September 28, 2023, and met the membership. She asked for 4-5 volunteers to weed and work in Leigh Plummer Park with Nanette Baumgardner and Marianne Foley on Saturday, September 30th. The students helped to prepare the site for the new bike rack being installed at Leigh Plummer Park.and also helped with upkeep of the memorial markers.Snacks and beverages were supplied by Kimberly for the volunteers. They plan to help again in the future.
