On Thursday, December 1, Calusa Garden Club “Gadabouts” traveled to Naples Botanical Garden to visit the Johnsonville Night Lights in the Garden display. Ten women drove to Naples where they enjoyed an early dinner together at Taqueria San Julian on Bayshore Drive. Delicious tacos and quesadillas! Then they proceeded to Naples Botanical Garden for their 6:00 tickets for Night Lights. The evening was balmy, and most wore long sleeves and long pants to ward off mosquitoes. Several women shared their bug sprays, which was very helpful. The Night Lights display was beautiful in shades of blues and purples and pinks, and the 8- feet tall Calavera Cantina sculptures were spooky with the added lights. The Stickwork walk-through house was a little treacherous in the dark, but many people were walking through it. Added attractions to the lighted plants and sculptures were two cocktail bars and a donut truck! Perfect! The members attending were Linda Spell, Linda Colombo, Sue Oldershaw, Lindy Kowalczyk, Liz Haines Papagiannis, Joan Husband, Kimberly Korb Porter, Opi DeFalco, Sara Wolf and Donna Kay.
