  • To educate community newcomers and residents to the unique sub-tropical growing conditions on Marco Island.
  • To increase knowledge of the environment and how to protect it. To intensify efforts to beautify Marco Island.
  • To further horticultural education and conservation in local schools.
  • To provide all members with basic knowledge and skills in floral design and horticulture.
  • To stimulate members interests and participation in the educational efforts of the club and its fellowship opportunities.
  • To support and further the objectives of the Florida Federation of State Garden Clubs through District IX.

These objectives are achieved not only at our regular membership meetings and programs but by being involved with the club's community outreach projects.  Specifically these would be Junior Gardeners which meets with elementary students one day a month throughout the school year. The member volunteers stimulate the children's interest in the environment and in gardening.  Calusa has erected a Blue Star Memorial Marker in 2013 on the Veterans Community Park Property. This is maintained by our members of the Monument Committee. There are four areas that are included: Leigh Plummer Park,Calusa Park at SandHill and Winterberry, Pineapple Marker on So. Barfield as well as the Blue Star. The Calusa Garden Club has now become partners with the City by assisting in maintaining the Butterfly Garden at Calusa Park. This garden was begun with monies($10,000) from the Calusa Garden Club in 2004.

Flower shows are held for all to enjoy. The shows not only exhibit flower designs but displays an array of horticulture that grows here on Marco Island.  Members contribute flower arrangements for the annual Breast Cancer Luncheon held in February on the island.

Annually  camperships are awarded to elementary students of the area. These camperships are for a week's stay at the Florida Federation of Garden Club's Camp Wekiva in northern Florida.
